Jessica Simpson Is Proud Of Herself For Her New Love, Tony Romo

Singer and Reality TV star, Jessica Simpson’s country album has reached number one, but she is more proud of letting Tony Romo into her life. Last Thursday when she attended a Nina’s Night Out benefit for the Rape Crisis Center at the Palms Casino Resort’s Pearl Theatre, she told PEOPLE, “Tony is a great quarterback, but he’s a better boyfriend. I’m seriously proud of myself for letting him into my life.”

Jessica joked that Romo, “was my Monday this week,” in reference to her song about him, “You’re My Sunday,” and the Dallas Cowboys’ huge win over the Philadelphia Eagles on ESPN’s Monday Night Football a few days ago.

Jessica feels comfort being with Romo and said, “Through all the chaos and torment and everything I go through, I can lay in his arms and finally rest.”

What is it like for Tony to have Simpson as his girlfriend? Jessica joked with PEOPLE about that and told them, “To be my man, you have to put up with a lot,” said the singer. “I toot under the sheets, I spend a lot of money and I can belch the ABC’s.”

Jessica Simpson continues to squash herself into the latest role Papa Simpson wants her to play—Chubby County Blonde Girl Next Door. But she’s totally okay with that! A pal told OK! Magazine,

“She’s done depriving herself and missing out on life just to fit into a size 2 jeans,” the friend says. “She doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with the way she looks.”

One of the reasons the singer is feeling more comfortable may have to do with a certain Dallas Cowboys quarterback! Jess’s boyfriend, Tony Romo, reportedly loves her curvier look and has encouraged her to not take life so seriously.

“Whether she’s catching one of Tony’s games, or just hanging out with him, she’ll throw back a couple of beers, eat some pizza and just have fun,” the singer’s friend says. “She is just in a different place than she used to be and her weight gain is a reflection of that.”

Sure, it’s all fine and good to start eating more and being happy with gaining weight until you find yourself at the bottom of an empty well with a cross-dressing murderer making you rub lotion on your skin. You don’t want the hose, do you?

Hey Perez! I work across the street from GMA. Jessica Simpson gave a concert on 44th Street this morning, and there had to be less than 50 people there. It was pretty embarrassing. The whole street was closed off for such a small, dismal crowd. If there are any pictures of her performing on the wire, I'm sure they wont' show the crowd.

Anyone have pictures to share with the rest of us?

Updates: Another reader - also named John - tells us that Jessica stopped her performance of With You because she couldn't hear herself, she claimed.

Ken Paves Has Jessica Simpson's Back

We don't think this is in his job description as a hair stylist, but Ken Paves doesn't let people mess with his number one client Jessica Simpson.

After Jess performed at the Grand Ole Opry earlier this month, a reporter spoke to her about her performance, congratulating her. But they then made the mistake of asking her what she thought of her rival Carrie Underwood.

Jess reportedly stormed off, and that's where Ken stepped in. He grabbed the person by the shoulder, and said, "Watch your f**king mouth, you rude BLEEP! How dare you bring that name up!?"

Tina Simpson then stepped in between the two to break it up. It's time to re-examine your life when you feel it necessary to go off on a reporter because they bring up another musical artist's name. Ken should stick to hair!
